It looks like it could be the ocean. But it’s not. It’s a jacuzzi. Sophie really liked the jacuzzi at our friends’ house. She thought it was a hoot.
Sophie has started to swim. For real. Without floaties or other support. Yes, she swims a bit like a labrador retriever, but she knows how to stay above water and make her way across the pool.
And in a particularly notable bit of progress, she has gone from refusing to dunk her head (just a few short weeks ago) to wanting to have tea parties under the water.
We think it’s peer pressure. She’s seen kids about her age navigating their way around the pool and she doesn’t want to be left out. And the swim lessons she’s had this summer certainly have helped.
Now if we can only teach her how to ride a bike without training wheels…
