That is the question of the day. As a 42nd birthday present, my mom has very generously offered to watch the girls for most of the week between Christmas and New Year’s so that my husband and I can get some much needed R&R.
We haven’t been to Las Vegas in years. And when I mentioned the idea to my dear hubby, he seemed pretty enthusiastic about it. Especially since he wouldn’t have to think about what to buy me for my birthday or for the holidays. We can get some good deals if we fly midweek, so it’s tempting. Very tempting. It’s Vegas, after all, right?
So why haven’t we already booked the trip? Because yours truly is hesitating. Do I want to leave the girls during a holiday week? Do I want to spend the money (even if we can use Amex points to pay for a good part of it)? If I’m being honest, having a break from the girls wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing (I love you both, really I do, with all my heart, boy, do you sometimes drive me crazy!). Spending the money – well, not so sure about that. Especially since I’d gamble. And I generally never win when I gamble for my birthday. Which means that the trip could potentially end up costing a bit more than just airfare, hotel and food.
So, I’m thinking it over. And I know that I’ll likely think it over so much that by the time I am finally ready to bite the bullet, the airfare will have increased exponentially, and then it’ll be too late. And my poor husband still won’t know what to get me for my birthday or the holidays.
