Keep the Dollar, I’ll Buy an App

Note to the tooth fairy.  Dollars are out.  Apps are in.  Chloe lost another tooth yesterday.  The tooth fairy got stuck in the latest snowstorm to hit the east coast, so Chloe reminded me this evening that the tooth fairy forgot about her (wink, wink).

When I handed Chloe a dollar, she replied, “Keep the dollar.  I’ll buy an app,” since all of her iTouch purchases are charged to me.  She found a silly game that cost $0.99, and promptly downloaded it.  She played it for about five seconds, and realized that the game was lame.  She asked if she could return it.  We told her that, unfortunately, returns weren’t an option.  Needless to say, it didn’t take her long to regret not accepting the traditional dollar.

Life is tough sometimes.  You can’t always get what you want.  And often what you think you want is not really what you want.  A very important lesson for an almost 10-year old to learn.  Thanks, Tooth Fairy (wink, wink).
