If Chloe can do it, I can do it. Take a first look at Chloe’s new business. Top ‘o the line pencil toppers. Skulls, whales, pigs, dogs, cats, roses, suns, gifts, turtles…it’s as simple as model magic and magic marker. And they’re cute, too.
Chloe is going to introduce them to the market when she has her first lemonade stand of the year. I think she could easily charge $1-$2 apiece for these novelties, depending on their complexity and the time it takes her to make them. There’s virtually no overhead, other than needing a fresh supply of the polymer and pens.
She’s an inspiration. My mind is racing recently with ideas for my own business, but I feel like I’m too old and too risk-averse to take the plunge. Yet I can’t help but think that if I don’t bite the bullet soon, my hesitation will cause me a great deal of regret in a few years. I’m at a crossroads. My brain is urging me to continue along the safe path, which means enduring the status quo. My heart is urging me to take a leap of faith. I need a sign. Problem is, I don’t believe in signs. Ugh.
