Smiling and Laughing

Sometimes, it’s just the most mundane little moments that make me smile.  We were in the car on the way home from dinner, and the annoying commercial for “Kars for Kids” started playing on the radio.  It’s annoying because the jingle is one that you just can’t get out of your head and you hear it way too often.

Chloe and Sophie know the jingle all too well.  And apparently, Chloe’s friend knows it also.  She was in the car with us.   Before I could change the radio station, the three of them were belting out the words and Sophie was using her silly voice.  And the three girls were laughing and laughing.

And so was I.  It felt good to just laugh.  Don’t get me wrong, I laugh fairly frequently with my girls.  But this week was a particularly difficult one.  And I don’t recall laughing all that much.  It felt really good to let it rip for a few fleeting seconds.  The girls went to bed happy, and I’m going to go to bed happy, too.
