Sophie has lost her second tooth. It was a good thing, too, since the adult tooth had started to come up behind its baby counterpart. I told her that I’d put in a good word with the tooth fairy so that she would visit Sophie tonight.
Sophie wanted to know how I contacted her. “Do you send her an email?” No. “Do you video chat with her?” No. I replied that the Tooth Fairy isn’t that technologically advanced. Instead, I told my dear baby, “I look up at the sky and whisper ‘Dear Tooth Fairy, Please visit Sophie tonight. Thank you.'”
Sophie liked that very much. And I marveled at how written notes and telephone calls have been supplanted by emails and video chats. I love my Sophie.
