Sloth

I’m not referring to the animal.  Rather, today’s theme is one of the seven deadly sins.  I haven’t had a chance to be much of a sloth since becoming Chief Mom Officer.  In fact, I’ve been running around so much that working at home has been just about as exhausting as being paid to work.

This afternoon, however, is a different story.  After going for a brisk walk in the park, I came home, took a shower and am now writing this blog while catching up on “Top of the Lake” (great show, probably requires more concentration than half-watching while writing).  Yes, you read that correctly.  Showering and watching TV in the middle of the afternoon.

I don’t remember the last time I watched TV at 2 pm on a weekday.  My conscience is telling me I should feel guilty, especially because it’s gorgeous outside.  But the rest of my brain is basking in the knowledge that I have nowhere I need to be for another hour.

Unfortunately, this particular deadly sin is not one I will be able to enjoy on a daily basis.   But I won’t refrain from indulging every once in awhile.  Purgatory be damned.

  1. The first year I was home I caught up on all the movies I hadn’t been able to see the previous year or the ones Neil wouldn’t go see. GUILTY pleasure. But worth it. : ) Kerry
