The quality of the video is awful, but if you look closely enough, you can make out Sophie’s shadow. Interestingly enough, Sophie loves to dance. She loves pink. But she has no desire to wear tutus. So I don’t think ballet is in her future, even though I’m convinced there’s a little Mikhail Baryshnikov aching to escape from her little 4-year old body.
Sophie loves to watch the old “Pink Panther” cartoons. Loves them. They are all short – no more than six minutes or so apiece. And she’ll watch a bunch of them at once.
In anticipation of our trip to Hilton Head next week, Papa decided that cleaning the inside of the minivan was of the utmost importance. He recruited the girls to work and together they put in almost two hours vacuuming, hosing down the car mats and scrubbing the car’s interior.
Sophie asked Papa for $5 today. She likes the fact that the ‘5’ is purple. We told her ‘ok’ but she’d have to earn it. She started out this morning by putting her dad’s socks on his feet. She then made her bed, and arranged all of her favorite animals so they could watch fake pillow TV in her room. She helped set the table this evening (although not without some moaning and groaning) and ended her day’s tasks by vacuuming the floor over and over again. Eat your heart out, neat freaks of the world!
I love this photo of Sophie in action, running across the playground in Prospect Park, Brooklyn as her Papa chases her. Please take note of her impressive form as she sprints to evade her father.
