We are in great danger of not spending all the money in our flexible spending account by the end of the year. There’s a lot of money to be spent, which means that in all likelihood friends and family will see me in yet another pair of glasses on January 1, 2011.
In light of our realization that we risk wasting a significant sum of cash, I went on a not-so-insignificant shopping spree at CVS this afternoon. Zyrtec, Robitussin, Sudofed, Advil, Nyquil, Children’s Tylenol, Neosporin, sleep aids. You name it, I bought it. And $200 later, we now have a mini-CVS in our house.
But in addition to the medication, I also bought a present for Sophie. Disney princess Band-Aids (which also happen to be reimbursable). And when I showed her the surprise, she went nuts. I think she would have been willing to mutilate herself (just a little) right then and there. She jumped, she screamed, she put her hands to her cheeks and with great emotion exclaimed, “Thank you SO much, Mommy!” And then she gave me one of her famous hugs.
I swear, sometimes being a parent is just too damn easy.
