Giddy-Up!

This walk down memory lane with the kids’ videos has been a blast.  I wanted to post a video that included Chloe tonight, but I just couldn’t resist another Sophie special.  In this clip, we caught her during her cowgirl mode, soon after she turned three in the fall of 2008.  Take note of her precise diction and her pride.  

We filmed her right around the time Nanny died.  I was extremely sad during those difficult weeks, but the girls were always magically able to cheer me up.  Having a little monkey like Sophie in the house was the perfect tonic.

As mentioned in my previous blog post, I have rediscovered old Sophie and Chloe videos from years past.  I found this clip from February 2009, when she 3+ years old, particularly amusing.  Sophie is “reading” one of my thrillers (Faithless by Karin Slaughter) upside down.  You can catch words here and there, but for the most part, Sophie’s talking nonsense and channeling Chloe’s voracious reading (she’s even sitting in Chloe’s preferred reading spot on the couch) and our nightly reading sessions with her.


Spending Time with Family

It’s been a lovely weekend – spending time with family, going to the movies (between the 10 of us on Friday, we saw “Skyfall,” “Lincoln,” “The Rise of the Guardians” and “Sessions”), doing sone local shopping and visiting the Museum of the Moving Image, a gem of a museum in Queens that has a little something for everyone.
