Until today, I hadn’t played tennis since 2000, when my husband and I went to Negril, Jamaica and he threw out his back trying to keep up with my stellar game.

Communing With Nature
The morning activity consisted of a bike ride to the horse stables, which also feature an adorable petting zoo. Goats, deer, pigs, llamas, rams…and let me tell you, those animals are enjoying life. Each goat had its own little house.
The Beach!
Do you think we had a great day? The water was a bit choppy (thank you Hurricane Danielle), but it was so deliciously warm. The girls had a great time. I even helped Sophie build a sandcastle. Not something I’m particularly good at. Nor something I particularly enjoy doing. But I enjoyed it today. Because I’m ON VACATION!
We Made It!
We left at 4:15 pm yesterday. The only traffic we encountered was in New Jersey. What a surprise. Arrived in Richmond, VA at 10:30 pm last night. We had a bad night’s sleep at a Holiday Inn and hit the road again this morning at 8:55 am. We arrived at Hilton Head at 5 pm, after driving a total of 815 miles.
A Surprise from Camp Cayuga
Chloe received some surprise certificates in the mail today from Camp Cayuga. She won three awards for:
Loving the roller coasters at Hershey Park!
Sophie, Ballerina
Pink Panther!
Sophie loves to watch the old “Pink Panther” cartoons. Loves them. They are all short – no more than six minutes or so apiece. And she’ll watch a bunch of them at once.
Vacation Prep
In anticipation of our trip to Hilton Head next week, Papa decided that cleaning the inside of the minivan was of the utmost importance. He recruited the girls to work and together they put in almost two hours vacuuming, hosing down the car mats and scrubbing the car’s interior.
Chloe’s Camp Olympics Chant
Chloe’s home! She gave camp a 9 out of 10. Loved it. Even got asked to the “prom” by an older man. He was 10. She thinks his friend put him up to it.
