Chloe hanging out by the lake in Ithaca this past weekend. I love this photo of her. She seems much older than her nine years.

Reunited With Chloe
I couldn’t wait to get to Ithaca this morning. I had to yell at my husband several times to hurry it up so we could leave. “I’m coming, I’m coming,” he yelled repeatedly. Although we didn’t leave the house at 7 am (as my husband had optimistically predicted the day before), we were in the car and on our way by 8:15. We made the trip in record time, and Chloe was in my arms by noon.
Magic Fairy Dust
Sophie and Mommy time is coming to an end. Papa should be home shortly, returning from his trip to Tennessee. We had a nice time, my little one and I. We went for a few short walks, she rode her bike, and we played games and read books. We capped off our time together tonight with a viewing of “Sleeping Beauty” and some popcorn. Followed by three books, “When Sophie Gets Angry,” “Swimmy” and “Eloise Has a Lesson.” And topped off by a sprinkling of some “magic fairy dust” to stop her bug bites from itching.
Chloe’s Ode to the Sun
A boiling gassy ball of fire
It rises up in the morning
Then rests peacefully during the day
Finally it goes down
Then comes up again
The sun
I miss my Chloe. We’ll see her in a few days. I don’t imagine she misses us that much because she’s having a great time at camp at Cornell. But she wrote us another letter, and the lovely poem about the sun was included in her missive. So it’s nice to know she’s thinking of us. I love the letters. They’re so old fashioned. I can’t wait for her to go to sleepaway camp next month because we’ll get to send each other more snail mail. Very cool.
Chloe the Adventurer
Apparently, she kept going back for more. And more. And more.

Sophie’s Back and She Hugs!
I really missed Sophie’s hugs this week. And when she stepped out of my mom’s car this afternoon and gave me a series of huge hugs, I was overcome with happiness.
Letters to Mom and Dad
Apparently, Chloe and Sophie miss us. Either they miss us or my mom encouraged them to write us letters. It doesn’t really matter what their motivation was. ‘Cause what a treat to get mail from my girls!
The Joys of Childhood
I am now officially jealous of my two girls. Look at the fun they’re having this week in Ithaca.
Our Farm
After Chloe expressed an interest in communing with mother earth a few weeks ago, Papa took the girls to the local nursery the other day and bought lots of interesting things.
